Former diplomat, Mexico´s ambassador to the UK (1995-97), Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister (1988-94) and Ambassador to Sweden (1983-1988), Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva (1982-83). He founded the Mexican Council on Foreign Relation and since 1994, has the lifetime Rank of Eminent Ambassador. He is President of his own consulting firm, Rozental & Asociados, advising multinational companies on their corporate strategies in Mexico and Latin America. He is also active in a number of NGOs and projects relating to global governance, migration policy, climate change, Latin American politics, and the promotion of democracy. Board member of Canada´s Centre for International Governance Innovation and former Brookings non-resident senior fellow for nine years. He is also a senior policy adviser to Chatham House in London, sits on the Council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and is a member of the Trilateral Commission. He currently is an independent board member of Ocean Wilson Holdings and Wilson Sons in Brazil and Mexico, as well as the lead non-executive member of the board of HSBC Mexico. He currently holds advisory positions with Brookfield Asset Management, ExxonMobil, Toyota, Idaquim, Deutsche Erdoel Mexico, and AT&T.
